Liquidation and Mengele

When you went on the death march, when you left Auschwitz?

Hm?

When you left Auschwitz, when you marched out?

Yeah?

Was Mengele there, too?

Who?

Mengele?

Who was?

Dr. Mengele?

I don't know. I didn't see him.

He wasn't there.

No, he probably run away in, in Auschwitz camp.

What about the woman that you used to see? Was she there?

No, I didn't see no, I didn't see no woman. We was separated. They had them in different places. You see, before, before they started bring, bring people from different camps, they brought one out, a group, you know, in trucks, you know. And I don't know where the women, where they took them. There was, there was print money, lithographs, you know, counterfeit money, English pounds, American dollars, you know. There was counterfeit money in Germany. So they evacuated them too, in a camp. But they had it good, see. If they treat them good, they give them more food, you know. That's all they're doing. It's lithograph, you know, make counterfeit money, English pounds, you know.

When was this?

1945, they brought in the same transport for it. See, they, they evacuated not only Auschwitz, they evacuate it all the way around in the camp, but the Russians keep closing down on them.
