Warsaw II

In Warsaw? What was the Warsaw ghetto like? Do you remember?

I don't really remember. It already started. Maybe when it start...No, this was before the ghetto, yet. I took them back, you know. You see, there's too many people. There's no place where to stay there. There was no place where to live. You know, in the Warsaw ghetto, it was quartered off by the Judenrat and the police with, with, with little horse wagons, you know. And picking up dead ones in the streets. Dead people lay...laying on the street, on the street, you know?

Uh-huh.

All day long they go around picking them up.

And this was before the wall went up?

It was before the Nazi ghetto, yes.

But, did your father die there?

Who?

Was there, was there typhus in Warsaw?

Yeah.

Is that where he died?

Yeah.
