Conditions on Train

What was it like in the car?

It was horrible. It was horrible. Everybody was hungry, everybody was crying. It was, it was horrible and we--through Poland we was going and asked, "Where we going, where are we?" And he says, "You, you go to Auschwitz."

Who said that?

That, the Goy who was working there. I don't know, he says, "Everyday trains are coming here through. And he says, ???," that's he told us. We never knew what this is Auschwitz.

You never heard of it.

Never heard of it. So they brought us there and then they told us to get out and they brought us with some kind of wagons, like trucks, you know. Groups and groups they brought in those trucks.

What time, was it nighttime when you got there?

No, it was daytime.
