Living Conditions on Train and in Camp

Yeah. On that train transport when you were going to Gabersdorf um, did any people die on that train during?

On the train? Not too many, not too many, no, not too many.

Mm. And you said you were on the train for three months?

Three months, yeah. Oh, just a minute, I'm sorry just know three people were died I think so...

Uh-huh, uh-huh.

...three, three girls. Yeah. I don't know if they putted the girls to death. I don't know, I don't know.

What about sanitation on the train? I mean, how did you go to the bathroom? Did you--was there any buckets on the train?

Everything in the train, in the train. You maked holes.

Yeah.

That's all, that's all. Then you sit you have nothing ???.

Once you got to Gabersdorf can you tell me a little about the barracks and about the living conditions there?

The living?

Mm-hm, in Gabersdorf.

In Gabersdorf. The beginning we gotted not too, not too so bad. It's a little better. Is were the Judenälteste is were a good girl and the Lagerfürher--you know Lagerfürher?

Mm-hm.

The woman--she was a nice lady. And ??? she said every time, "???" Polish, "???" "Girls, get up and eating something like this." She nice, she were very nice. And then the director--you know in director you say in English, director in English?

Yeah, uh-huh.

The director is were good man. We gotted one girl--a young girl from fifteen year old she's coming to the la...in the camp. She was nice girl, a beautiful--and the fa...father were killed before the war were the bandits Polack come in to the house with rope and killed the father. She come--she not got a father, not mother. She come to the la...to the camp and Czech, the ghe...um the, the, the um, how you say? The director...

Mm-hm.

...he likes very much this girl. He wanna hire this girl in the house, the Jewish girl in the house--he not got kids. But he said when the SS coming she--he don't wanted the SS look at this girl, wanna take the girl, wanna kill the girl...
