Son's Dream

Children are very good at...

And he wasn't a child anymore. He was fourteen, living through this period. He wasn't a child. In fact, you asked me what we heard. It was in '3... Can I go back to '39?

Yes.

When these rumors started to go that people, they're deporting people from Germany, from Austria. My son came nine years old, because I remember the age because he was born in 1930 and I remember he was nine years old. And he told me he had a dream. He dreamt that there was a very big arena and full with people. Arena?

Arena, yeah.

And full—if I don't pronounce it right will you pronounce?

Yes.

And full with people and in the center of the arena there were ??? stacked up. And people were, there were soldiers in the center and they were calling people from the arena and people came down one by one and they were burned on, on this ???. And, and then he heard his name, calling his name, and he said I can't ??? I can't go, I have to go back to my parents, they wouldn't know where I am, I can't go. And that's, at nine-years-old he dreamt that. Was he a kid? Yeah, he was a kid.

He had heard the rumors too.
