So what would you have done if the war had not come?
Well, I would proba...it's hard to say, I probably would have graduated college and, and go to, graduate uh, high school and go, and go to college and become one of the, kind of professor or doctor or any kind of professional.
And that's what your mother wanted.
My mother's dream, my mother's dream, yes. And I tried to fulfill it. After the war I still went to college. I went to, as a matter of fact, for about almost a year to Phillips Université in Marlboro, Germany. And then I had enough to finish, to come to the United States, and therefore I discontinued everything. I had a brother and a sister with me and we decided, you know, an opportunity comes over here, let's take advantage of it and I came to the United States. And tried to go to Wayne University in Detroit, it was kinda hard, language wise, and I had to support a brother and a sister, you know, so and so.
You were the oldest.
Gave it up.
Did your brother go to Wayne?
My brother was--he graduated high school, graduated uh, Wayne University and is a professor at the University of Michigan.
