Do you suffer from any physical illness as a result of your experience in the Holocaust?
Well, naturally. Well, sure I suffer.
What kind of illness?
Well, ar...arthritis first of all.
Mm-hm.
Then I was operated on. I had double hernia operation. Result from the, from the hard labor in the concentration camp. And uh, I had bad leg--bad feet rather--not in the legs, but bad feet. All kind of troubles.
Mm-hm. Does the past ever interfere with your life today? Um, do you remember images while you're involved in daily tasks?
Oh sure. I have a lot of bad dreams.
Still?
Still, yeah. Once in awhile I, I wake up in the middle of the night and I cannot fall back--fall asleep again. Bad dreams. I still remember those, those things what I lived through.
Mm-hm.
It's bad. It's hard to forget. Very hard. Especially my--all my rel...my immediate family--my relatives.
