Auschwitz--Smuggling in the Camp IV

When you organized, did you...

Yeah, yeah. I... I...

Did you maintain contact with the Canada Kommando? Is that...

Oh... Oh, yeah.

...is that where the stuff came from, from Canada?

What?

From the Canada Kommando?

Oh, they used to go call Sonderkommando.

The people who worked the platform?

That's ??? Sonderkommando.

The Sonderkommando? Not Canada?

Yeah, they got... they got a different name. They don't say Canada.

Is that where this... all this food and clothes and sheets... came from?

You see, I find a little time. I went up to look too. They took me up. They need some people to sort it. They bring in...They got in transport. I find it in a tallit, you know, in a tallit I, I find a ham wrapped up. A smoked ham, you know. I forget... Hungarians come with salami, very good salami. They're very good to preserve, you know.

So you took it?

Sure. We...I...Well, we...I cut it, eat it, give them a piece, give them a piece.

Right there?

Yeah, we will take it...Only a piece I took. Yeah, I was a big organizer.
