Italy II

You were in the hospital in Italy. Where in Italy?

Where in Italy?

Uh-huh.

I'll tell you where. They call it Santa Maria ???, in the southern part.

Oh.

Like by the ??? wall. Nothing, no more, the only wall in the Mediterranean, you know.

What, what was it like there?

It was nice there. That was nice.

Did the Americans treat you well?

Yeah, no, but I was a...There was the nuns. You know the Italian nuns?

Yeah.

You know, the sisters, the holy sisters? They take care. And so I had to talk to UNRRA. I had to learn English in order to...You know they landed through New York. The army through the UNRRA.

UNRRA, uh-huh.

You see, I am pretty unaware ??? I had a stroke. I lose my conscious ??? I know I remember.

I can see.

My memory is good, you know, I can, can remember everything, you know, every phone number. I don't have to write it down.
