Auschwitz-Birkenau

How long were you at Birkenau?

Uh, we were about a couple weeks, I don't remember exactly how long. Two or three weeks.

What did you do there?

Nothing.

Nothing. Just...

Laying on, on the uh, on, on, on these shelves on, on the racks.

Did they say Appell? Was there...

Huh?

The Appell, was it a daily Appell?

Oh yeah, several times a day. Oh yeah, several times a day.

Just to count.

Yeah. And these uh, Kapos, you know. They were uh, whoever they were they were just bad because they looked out for their own skin you know, anyway. But some of 'em were just bad, plain bad.
