Were, were these--you must have shopped in the same stores when you were under Czechoslovakian occupation.

Yes.

And the same people didn't give you the same treatment?

No. Some of them uh, were sorry. And some of them was glad you know, they put the Jewish armband on sale.

They were happy.

They were happy to see you know.

Was there any destruction to any of the synagogues or any of the...

There was destruction to the synagogue. They throw stones, they break some windows and took out some religious article. And you couldn't do nothing about it. If you went to the higher authorities to uh, tell 'em, they said you just go home, you should be glad you're still alive, they didn't beat you up. So people didn't want to complain too much because they know they couldn't do nothing about their uh, remarks.

Were you in a ghetto?

Yes.
