And when the war began, you were living in um, were you in Podgorze then, or were you?
In Krakow.
In Krakow.
In Krakow, I was living in, in Podgorze, Krakow, ???
Okay.
Not in Jankowka, Jankowka, not Jankowka, in ???, Podgorze I was living,
Okay.
Yeah, yeah. And we still had the store.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, and the war broke out.
Did you know that the war was coming, did you hear talk about it?
Yeah, yeah, we, we know about it, we know because when they took the Czechoslovakia we know about it. Because they, when they took Czechoslovakia... Czechoslovakia, I don't remember which year they took. I think the war broke out in '39, so they must have taken '37.
Mm-hm.
We knew that it's something coming. And uh, I am not going to say this, this is... So uh, you know, so if the war coming, and we're worried about. But still, you know, the life goes on. I went for vacation. Every year I was going for two, three weeks by Zakopane, did you hear Zakopane, this is like Switzerland, you know, in Poland...
Uh-huh.
... you know, beautiful. So not far from Zakopane we were, used to go ???, we used to go for vacation always. With my friend, we rented the uh, place. And this time we went in 1939, you know, always in June, June, July we went for a month. And we came early than usually because they were talking so much about the war. So we're supposed to stay there longer, uh, 'til the end of August, but we came middle of August, because we felt there is something wrong. And the war broke out in September 1, 1939, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
