Had you ever heard of Auschwitz when you were in the ghetto?
No. Funny, I never heard of Auschwitz. Didn't--I didn't find out about Auschwitz until I got off the train. It's one of the best kept secrets in the world.
Especially in Łódź.

Right. Well, you know, supposedly best trick in the world, the, the ??? knew everything about it and they claimed they didn't know anything about it.
Yeah.
But uh, when we got out from the, from the train, that's when the, with just my, my, my uh, two sisters and my two brothers and me and my mother. And right there, you know, my uh, brother, my uh, little brother and my uh, mother went to one side, towards the crematorium. My sister went one side, me and my brother went another side.
What did you think that was about?
Well, 'til we--when we got there we kinda knew that it's already bad.
