Jewish Children

How many Jews came back to Amers...Amersfoort ? There weren't many to begin with, right, before the war?

Yeah. I don't know how many they had before the war...

Right.

And after the war there was...

Well, how--you were--how many Jews--Jewish children were in your--in school?

Well, I always had the Jewish, uh, uh, Sunday school, like Sunday school. I had on Sunday and Wednesday, I was in Jewish school.

It must have been a small class.

Very small. Maybe three, four children. And they were so different, because there was one girl. She hardly knew that she was Jewish, because they were so reformed that uh, the parents, I never saw them in, in Shul or something. There only was an Orthodox synagogue and that was--and then the two boys from uh, where--one was had asthma, they were Orthodox. I think we were with four children, something like that.
