New York City I

So, you went to New York. Did you live in New York?

See, I married her, an Italian girl. And she come here with me. She had some uncle in Bronx, New York. We come before Christmas, 1949. I remember the name of the boat, the American Navy boat, the name was ???... ???, the boat.

Hm.

I tell her, I had a little money with me, when I come. When I come here, I took my suitcases...I had a friend here even before. And I took a little suite on Street, you know, $70 a...a week. Like a ??? and in a little suite, too, you know. It was an old German Jewish Hotel on New York ???. You know New York?

Uh-huh.

You know ???

Yeah.

It was like right...

Uh-huh...

...at ??? Street. I remember...Now, what was the name...the name of ???. Some German Jews own it. You know, I stayed there for a month. And she let me see New York with ???. After ??? going in a small town, in New York State, little town in New York. My wife's cousin, she had a big farm...a big house in like countryside.
