Were you more comfortable among the people in Bari? There were no Jews there.
I think I was, I was the only one.
Did that bother you?
I didn't speak Italian, talk Italian yeah. They respect me there, you know.

Did it bother you not to be among Jews?
You know, the old womans they used to ask me, why I say I, I'm, I'm Jewish. You're Polish, you were born in Poland. They couldn't, I couldn't get it to their heads, you know.
Did that bother you not to be around Jews? Did it bother you?
No, no more.
No more.
Didn't bother me ??? I was here forty years with no Jews. I have no Jewish friends.
