Gas Chambers

Did they take the bodies away?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, they. They throw them away. They just throw them down, I don't know. They took them away.

Who took them?

The prisoners took, they had to. We have to do it ourselves, we have to take our own father and mother. You take 'em to the gas chamber.

You never did that?

Hm?

You knew people who did that? Did you know people who took their own families to gas chambers?

Sure, they had to. They stay with their gun. You see that, in that time while we were prisoners, we ourselves and we don't care for nobody. Not for father or mother, nobody. Care for himself. A minute, they live a minute more, you know. I didn't know what the minute was going to be. See, I live in the minutes, not with the days, if I survive. Whatever thing I can grab, get this minute, I did.
