Sickness in the Labor Camp

Did anyone die in the camp?

Oh yeah.

From hard work?

That's one thing that was not good for you is to get sick. Get sick... If uh... There was no doctors there. None at all. Uh, I remember at one, at the same camp, in Gronow, there was a guy who used to be a barber at home. He became a ???. Uh, uh, he was like, treated people that came in with bruises or uh, sanitation or... And uh, he didn't know the first thing about uh, about medicine or anything else, you know. He was one, you know. Uh, but if somebody got seriously ill, they uh, took you away and that was the end of it. A lot of friends of mine uh, they got sick. People I knew from home, you know.
