Journey to Germany

Through Vienna?

Through Vienna. And then... Prague is in Czechoslovakia, right?

Mm-hm.

Somebody was telling me how Prague is beautiful. And, uh...

But if you were already in Austria, you were on your way...

No, no, but...

You think you went to Prague first.

Yeah, Prague first.

And then to Vienna?

Oh yeah.

Okay, and all walking or train or...

No, we, we were traveling by train.

By train.

Prague was, I think, first.

Did you ever ask about this? Did you ever ask your parents while you were on the trip?

No.

No, you just...

You knew you're going towards a certain destination.

And you just...

But somebody was telling me how beautiful Prague is uh,

Yeah.

I was talking to friends and they visited Prague. And uh, how pretty Czechoslovakia is. And I was saying, "Are you sure? Because you know, when I was in Czechoslovakia it wasn't so beautiful." So you know, memories are different, yeah.

What do you remember about Czechoslovakia? Was it war torn?

Uh, we were in the camp, not very long--we continued. It was very filthy there, very unpleasant actually. Uh, we were in, like, in a camp there. And then we continued and we were put on a train and we went to Germany. That's where we finally got...

From Vienna to Germany?

Yeah.

Where in Germany?

Ulm an Danau, yeah.
