Liberation 2

Were you wearing uniforms or what kind of clothing?

Yeah, uniforms.

What were the uniforms like?

Those uh, stripes.

The striped ones?

Mhm.

Mhm. And so then you got your first food from the Germans.

First food.

And then where did you sleep or what did you do next?

Then uh, then we didn't go back to the camp no more. We saw no, we saw the white flags everywhere.

Right.

So we, we walked into the best house in that particular block all three of us. There was an old lady there and we told her to leave or, or, or, or we gonna get rid of her. And she left and we, we stood there six weeks.

You stayed in that house six weeks?

Yeah, six weeks.

What was that house like?

Beautiful. Beautiful.

And how did you get food in that house?

I could live in that house for five years without going out.

There was enough food in that house.

Enough food for five years.

Did anybody else join you?

Prepared! Prepared food too. Prepared like hamburgers in, in jars. Opened up and everything.

Sausages.

Everything. Flour sacks and rice sacks and wine, whiskey and everything. Five years I could have stayed there without going out.

Rags to riches.

Yep. Yeah.
