Fate of Parents

How old was your father?

My father was uh, fifty-six, no fifty-one, and my mother was forty-five. And they were taken to Auschwitz.

You didn't know when they were taken?

I didn't know. Later on, I heard that they were taken to where, a place where they collect all these Jewish people. Actually, I knew it, what had happened really when my cousin came back, that opera singer, cause she was at the same place when they were together and then taken away to different places, mostly to Auschwitz. She saw my parents and my two grandfathers at that place, and she knew where they were taken cause she was, you know, she went through this whole thing.

Do you um, do you think about it a lot?

Oh, you know what? Yes, I think about it. I don't like to think about my parents. I, I try to not to think about it because sometimes if I think about it, it makes me sick and mad. I don't want to think about it.
