Family II

What about your family? How would you describe your family before your father had to lose his store? Were you middle class? Were you lower class, upper class?

Uh, middle class family.

What did that mean in Europe to be middle class?

Middle class...

It's not the same as here.

Not like here you know, here if you uh, what's in Europe as middle class, here is uh, already the higher class.

Mm-hm.

If you make a living you have a house and you have a little store, there was middle class. Because uh, we had everything, uh. You know, not too fancy, but uh, we wouldn't uh, miss anything with the food or anything, with the clothing. We had nice clothing and uh, we was very, very uncom...very comfortable with the situation what we have home.
