Jack Gun - August 12, 1999

Anyone else hiding in the barn?

Not that we know of. Not that we knew of. And we laid there the whole day. During the day we heard a lot of-it was very close to the main highway. So we heard a lot of commotion. We heard a lot of trucks going back and forth. We heard some screams. But we had no idea what was going on.

Now this was August 21, 1942.

This was already the twenty-second.

Twenty-second.

Right.

And you knew enough not to react when they were.

Definitely.

You knew they would kill you.

That's right.

Nobody told you that.

Pardon me?

Nobody told you that.

Well, it, it was self understood.

So they left.

They left.

Your father's not back.

Correct.
